Recently, XR Studios has been leading the field of XR production with many pop star driven performance events like Katy Perry’s finale on American Idol, supporting MTV’s VMAs, and most recently, Billie Eillish’s livestream concert performance. As a video director, many years of concert touring inform my approach to camera and music performance.

When contemplating XR, cutting cameras has many technological challenges, but it is still a creative endeavor at heart. We’ll look at how we approached cameras for the Billie Eillish live stream and compare XR to existing camera workflows for TV and concert work.
