diversity initiative

We have a diversity problem.

A quick glance at our founders list on the home page and speakers list for our first conference tells a pretty clear story.

There are any number of reasons to think diversity should not be our primary concern. We have hard issues to face right now with so many in our community still out of work or facing a labor strike. We continue to see budget, labor and production issues that motivated this community’s existence in the first place. Isn’t that enough?

It isn’t.

We can do more. We build our community with a goal of growing our diversity as a foundational focus, and we will be stronger for it. To start, we acknowledging the issue and educate ourselves.
